Free PC driver check
See which devices on your Windows PC have a driver problem, and where to get the official fix. There is nothing to install and no account, and what you paste stays in this page.
Step 1: Run this command
$s=Get-CimInstance Win32_ComputerSystem;$o=Get-CimInstance Win32_OperatingSystem;[ordered]@{tool='softnest-driver-check-1';maker=$s.Manufacturer;model=$s.Model;windows=$o.Caption;problems=@(Get-CimInstance Win32_PnPEntity|?{$_.ConfigManagerErrorCode -notin 0,22,24,45 -or $_.Name -match 'Basic Display'}|%{[ordered]@{name=$_.Name;maker=$_.Manufacturer;code=[int]$_.ConfigManagerErrorCode;hw=([regex]'(?i)(PCI\\VEN_|USB\\VID_)[0-9A-F]{4}').Match(($_.HardwareID -join ' ')).Value}});drivers=@(Get-CimInstance Win32_PnPSignedDriver|?{$_.DeviceName -and $_.DriverProviderName -and $_.DriverProviderName -ne 'Microsoft'}|%{[ordered]@{name=$_.DeviceName;maker=$_.DriverProviderName;version=$_.DriverVersion;date=if($_.DriverDate){$_.DriverDate.ToString('yyyy-MM-dd')};signed=$_.IsSigned}})}|ConvertTo-Json -Depth 4 -Compress|Set-Clipboard;'Done. Go back to the SoftNest page and paste.'
What does this command do?
What this check can't do
- It can't tell you if a newer driver exists, because that depends on the exact model. The official pages can.
- It only shows what Windows reports. A device can still have a fault that Windows doesn't detect.
- It doesn't look for viruses, and it can't update drivers for you.
Be careful with any website that asks you to run a command. Read what it does first, as you can here. See official driver pages.
