Zotero is a free reference manager for students and researchers. A browser connector saves articles and books with one click, and plugins for Word and LibreOffice insert citations and bibliographies in thousands of styles.
You can read and annotate PDFs inside the app, and sync across devices. Free online storage is limited, so large PDF libraries may need paid storage or your own sync setup.
