Create bootable USB drives in minutes
Rufus is a small, free and open-source utility for creating bootable USB drives. It is the easiest way to make a Windows or Linux installation USB, a recovery drive, or a USB stick for tools such as memory testers and firmware updaters.
Select your USB drive and an ISO image, and Rufus chooses sensible settings for partition scheme (GPT or MBR) and file system automatically. It is known for being very fast. For Windows 11 installation media, Rufus can optionally create a local account and skip some hardware and online-account requirements during setup. It can also download official Windows ISO images for you.
Creating a bootable drive erases everything on that USB stick, so double-check you have selected the right drive. Rufus runs without installation, making it a handy tool to keep in your downloads folder.
