Private note-taking app with sync
Joplin is a free, open-source note-taking and to-do app that keeps your notes organised in notebooks and tags. Notes are written in Markdown, so you can format text, add checklists, tables, code blocks and images, and switch between an editor and a rich preview.
Joplin syncs across Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone using the service you choose: Joplin Cloud, OneDrive, Dropbox, Nextcloud, WebDAV or a local folder. End-to-end encryption keeps synced notes private. A web clipper extension saves articles and pages from your browser, and plugins add features such as kanban boards and table of contents.
Markdown takes a little getting used to if you are used to word processors, and the design is functional rather than flashy. As a privacy-friendly alternative to Evernote or OneNote, Joplin is excellent.
