Classic SSH and Telnet client for Windows
PuTTY is a small, free terminal client used to connect to servers and network equipment over SSH, Telnet and serial links. It can save sessions, generate SSH keys and forward ports, and has been a trusted tool for system administrators for decades.
Modern Windows includes an SSH command, but PuTTY remains useful for saved sessions and serial connections. Its settings window looks old-fashioned.
Pros
- Small and reliable
- Saved sessions
- SSH key generator
Cons
