Signal Desktop vs Telegram Desktop: which should you use on Windows?
Both have free Windows apps, but they make different promises. Signal is built for private conversation. Telegram is built for groups, channels and sharing large files.
Short answer
For private conversations, choose Signal, because every chat is end-to-end encrypted by default. For communities, channels and large file sharing, Telegram is more capable. Remember that ordinary Telegram chats are not end-to-end encrypted.
